Telemedicine - GI OnDemand

 

We are now offering telemedicine visits in order to minimize service interruptions for our patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

The Process of Scheduling Your Telemedicine Visit:

1. Call our office at (704) 783-1840 to schedule.

2. Once you are scheduled, you will receive an email from GI OnDemand to register. Please note you will have 24 hours to activiate your account from the link sent to your email.

3. At the time of your appointment, our clinical staff will place a voice call to you in order to review and document all necessary information prior to your visit with your provider.

4. Clinical staff will then assist you with getting in to the virtual waiting room in GI OnDemand order for your provider to begin the visit.

5. Once connected with your provider, your health is evaluated and care managed just as if you were in the office for a regular visit.

 

WHAT IS TELEMEDICINE?

A telemedicine visit is essentially a video conference between you and your provider. If you are unsure whether your next appointment can be handled over a telemedicine visit, contact our office and ask our appointment scheduling staff – we are here to help!

 

HOW DOES A TELEMEDICINE VISIT WORK AT NORTHEAST DIGESTIVE HEALTH CENTER?

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER TELEMEDICINE?

During the COVID-19 crisis, your insurance will be billed just like an in-office visit. You may still be responsible for your co-pay, co-insurance, or deductible based on your insurance benefits. If your insurance does not accept telemedicine, you will be considered self-pay for this visit and we will collect $75.

 

WILL I NEED ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT?

The only requirement is an internet-connected device with a camera; either a modern smart phone (i.e. Apple, Android, Google, LG, Motorola, Samsung), tablet or a computer. A high-speed internet connection is recommended for the best experience.

 

WHY IS TELEMEDICINE IMPORTANT?

Telemedicine allows for evaluation of your condition without leaving your home. In a time when there is risk of spreading an infectious disease, it is a method to provide care and keep you safe at the same time.
